The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. The annual campaign runs from 25 November (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to 10 December (Human Rights Day).

Organisations across the city are coming together to launch campaigns and hold events to raise awareness of the issue.

Sanctuary and Ahimsa at Derriford Hospital

3 December and 9 December

Ahimsa will be joining Sanctuary holding a stall to raise awareness of VAWG in the main concourse on the 9th December. Sanctuary will also be holding a stand outside L7 cafe aimed for raising awareness of VAWG and their services on the 3rd December.

16 Days Webinar: Engaging with high risk perpetrators of Domestic Abuse via a multi-agency approach.

Ahimsa will be running a Webinar to explore how we engage with high risk perpetrators of Domestic Abuse using a multi-agency approach on the 4th December 2024 11am until 12.30.

The webinar will look at how we approach these clients and motivate them to engage in behaviour change work, whilst managing the risk posed to others.  This work helps to encourage those that harm to accept responsibility for their behaviours and motivate change, whilst minimising risk to victims, families and the wider community.
